Tika Maya BK is mourning the death of her five family members, including a daughter-in-law, two daughters and two grand-daughters, who were killed in a landslide at Jamune VDC-1 in the district on Thursday night.
Tika Maya’s son-in-law Sai Bahadur Sunar had built a house near his in-laws’ just three months ago and had gone to India in search of a job leaving his wife Rupa and two daughters under the care of Tika Maya. “What I am to tell my son-in-law about Rupa and her two daughters upon his arrival,” said Tika Maya, who was weeping continuously remembering the deceased.
Seven persons were killed when the landslide triggered by heavy rains hit the house of Sai Bahadur. A villager Mina Gurung said the family, which was facing a tough time in eking out a living due to poverty, has been hit hard after the incident.
