POKHARA, AUG 08 -
The closure of Manipal Teaching Hospital entered 10th day on Tuesday. Doctors of the hospital have shut down medical services expect for emergency demanding a 20 percent salary hike.
Talks between the agitating medical practitioners and the hospital management on Tuesday also ended inconclusively. Both the sides had also held talks earlier. The MBBS exams were held amid a tight police security.
Earlier, the local administration broke the padlocks fastened by the agitating doctors considering patients’ plights.
Rupa Mangrati, who complained of high blood pressure and diabetes, said she was forced to go to a private health center for treatment, which was costlier due to closure of the hospital.
