KATHMANDU, JUN 27 -
Police on Wednesday detained the main culprit behind the blast outside Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) central office at Babarmahal.
The detainee has been identified as Rajkumar Tamang aka Bishwokranti, 41, of Chunmang-1, Dhankuta.
The East Regional Police Office of Biratnagar, made public Tamang organising a press conference today.
According to DSP Bhim Dahal, Tamang was arrested at Bhuspate Lake of Paanchthar.
He further said it was Tamang who took responsibility of the blast to various media following the incident.
Acting on a tip off, a team of police arrested Tamang and took him to Biratnagar.
During the press conference, Tamang claimed that despite being responsible for the blast, they did not mean to kill the innocent.
Three people were killed and seven others injured in a powerful explosion at the gate of NOC on Feb 27, which lies only few meters away from Singha Durbar, in Babarmahal, Kathmandu.
