Birgunj-based FM boss found dead in India

BIRGUNJ, JUL 08 -

The managing director of Birgunj-based Bindas FM was found dead at Motihari in northern Indian state of Bihar on Saturday.

DSP JN Chaudhary at Motihari Police said the body of Santosh Gupta, the managing director and promoter of the FM station, was found at Phulbari in East Champaran, India, on Saturday morning. Santosh was a permanent resident of bordering Indian town of Raxaul.

The Indian authority suspected that he might have been murdered on Friday night. Chaudhary said that police arrested four local residents,  including Pintu Raya and Madho Singh, in connection with the incident. 

Mankeshwor Gupta, the Bihar correspondent of the FM who saw the body, told the Post over telephone that there were deep injuries in both

legs and in the nape of the victim.

Gupta said postmortem of the the body has been carried out at a Motihari-based hospital but its report is yet to be received.

According to the FM management, Santosh went to Bihar when an unidentified person called him there to talk about the advertisement for the FM station.

With the initiation of Santosh, the FM station was set up at Birgunj Sub-metropolis-10 three months ago and started its transmission.

The FM station suspended transmission following the death of its managing director.
