KATHMANDU, JUL 04 -
Khwopa Engineering College secured the first position in the Robocup Nepal 2012 organised annually by Robotics Club of Pulchowk Engineering College. This year’s theme for the competition was “Clean Bagmati Green Kathmandu”.
“The students from Khwopa Engineering College displayed exceptional design and idea to match our theme,” said Abhishek Karna, media coordinator for the event.
Western Regional College stood second and also won the Immune Security Best Idea Award. The winners were awarded with gift hampers and certificates.
Dozens of robots representing various colleges took part in the competition collecting biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste from the river, making manure from garbage and using it for tree plantation. Both automated and manual robots took part in the event.
The club has been organising this competition since 2004 with the participation of various engineering college from across the country.
