KATHMANDU, JUL 08 -
Nasa College, who have already secured the semi- finals berth of the Morgan Cup 12th men and 11th women national basketball championship, finished as the leader of group B after registering a comfortable 83-57 win over Navodit at the National basketball court of the Dasarath stadium on Saturday.
Navodit began the match in the positive note, taking the lead of 16-10 in the first quarter but Nasa bounced back to take a 22-9 lead in the second set. Nasa maintained their lead and kept their opponents at bay with a difference of 10 points in the third quarter and won the match by as they trailed with a point in the last quarter.
Robin Khatri contributed 23 points for the winners. Poly Bikram Ale’s match highest 26 points for Navodit went in vain.
Similarly, in women contest, Prime won their second successive match after defeating Premier. Prime made a blistering start of the match by taking a big margin lead of 12-5 by the end of the first quarter.
Nevertheless, Premier turned the match in their favour in the second qaurter with 14-5 and leading with two points. Prime bounced back in the third round and retained the lead after scoring 13 points to five points. Last quarter ended in 5-5 5-5 tie as Prime won the game 35-29.
