Nominees : Pulsar Sports Award all set to roll out

KATHMANDU, JUL 04 -

The Nepal Sports Journalists’ Forum (NSJF) will be honouring the achievements of Nepali athletes in eight different categories in Pulsar Sports Award on Wednesday.

The NSJF said it had left no stone unturned to host the event in a grand manner like it has done in the previous years. A new addition has been made in the prize list, with the organisers giving away a Pulsar motorcycle to the winner of the Popular Player of the Year category, which is selected via SMS polling. This is an improvement in the organiser’s part from the previous years when only the winners of the Best Male and Female categories were awarded a motorcycle each.  

“This is the 10th edition of the sports award organised by the NSJF and we celebrate it as a festival.  All the preparations for it have been completed,” said NSJF President Niranjan Rajbanshi. A total of eight different awards  - player of the year male and female, youth player of the year, coach of the year, popular player of the year, para-athlete of the year, special award and life time achievement award.

Winners of the players of the year in male and female, youth player of the year and coach of the year will be selected among the five nominees while popular player of the year award will be decided through SMS votes garnered by the nominees. Likewise, winners of the para-athlete, special and life time achievement awards will be announced at the program itself.

Player of the year in both categories and popular player of the year will be rewarded with the Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle along with the trophies while the winners in other categories will bag a purse of Rs 30,000. Other nominees will also receive a Timex watch each and gift vouchers.
