PARSA: Parsa district has received no rain so far even if the monsoon has already entered Nepal.
Farmers here have been suffering as no rain has been received even after one week of the rainy month of Ashad.
Meanwhile, Muslim children here have taken out a rally praying with the god demanding water under the belief that the lack of rain was caused by the annoyance of god or Allah.
The children of Naya Tole in Birgunj-16 collectively demanded water with the Allah on Wednesday morning.
The rally also went round Murli Gaun from the mosque in Naya Tole. The children chanted 'Oh Allah, give us the rain'.
They were walking naked and locals poured water over them. The Muslim community has the belief that there will be rain if water is poured over them, said one Muslim leader Rama Tullah Khan.
Farmers have not been able to grow even the seeds of paddy and the winter maize crop has also been dried up.
Parsa has 45,000 hectares of paddy plantation out of 56,000 hectares of land. Life has been hit hard with the increasing mercury.
