KATHMANDU, JUN 28 - Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Post Bahadur Bogati has claimed that the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML are responsible for protracting the tenure of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai-led government.

Addressing an interaction at Reporters Club in the Capital on Thursday, Bogati said that PM Bhattarai’s tenure has been protracted because the NC and UML have been persistantly demanding the resignation of PM Bhattarai rather than initiating dialogue to resolve the political deadlock. “They only have themselves to blame,” said Bogati.

Claiming that PM Bhattarai would have to resign immediately if the opposition parties arrange for his alternative, UCPN (Maoist) Secretary Bogati said that the duration of PM Bhattarai’s tenure depends on NC and UML.

Saying that Maoist leaders have already accepted the leadership of NC, Bogati said if NC agrees on federal constitution, then PM Bhattarai would quit the premiership. “A mere change in the government would not solve the deadlocks. We would need consensus. Changing the government is not a big deal,” said Bogati.

Bogati further said that federalism is essential for political, economic and social development. Bogati also claimed that the government would release a complete budget.

Moreover, Bogati notified that the meting of the party, slated for July 16, would fill the vacant posts and also allocate new posts for the leaders.
